Merry Christmas!

I had a chance to sit in on a sermon today at Church by the Bridge. Tiny Baby, Total Savior was the title of the sermon. It was a welcomed reminder of the humility of Jesus, that the savior of the universe might come as a baby and depend of humans to raise and rear him, to change and to feed him.

I was really taken by a point that maybe potentially was made in passing….

“The savior of the universe has rather unusual bookends to his life. He was born with animals, died with criminals.”

In that statement lies the dichotomy of his life. The act of humility is putting others ahead of yourself, even though as the messiah you are better than everyone in the universe. Willing to be born as a baby dependent on the very humans you were sent to save.
